Manager of a wedding hall murdered in Musiri


A manager of a private wedding hall who was attacked with a knife by a labourer at Musiri in the district in the late hours on Monday died on Tuesday. 

The Musiri police registered a case of murder and arrested M. Ganesan, 38, on the charge of killing A. Subramanian, 52. The victim and the accused resided in the same locality at Thirumurugan Nagar. 

Police sources said Ganesan used to create problems apparently under the influence of alcohol in the locality. Subramanian is said to have told the wife of Ganesan about the latter’s behaviour.

Angered over this, Ganesan reportedly abused Subramanian and attacked him with a knife on his chest and shoulder. Subramanian was initially taken to the Government Hospital, Musiri, and was later admitted at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Tiruchi where he died.
